The “wonderful community spirit” across Staffordshire has been hailed after celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Residents marked the milestone with hundreds of street parties and celebrations across the county.
They included a Jubilee Beacon lighting ceremony at Lichfield Cathedral, the Burntwood Wakes and a Staffordshire Jubilee Garden Party attended by volunteers from Lichfield Foodbank.
Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for communities and culture, Cllr Victoria Wilson, said:
“We have a wonderful community spirit in Staffordshire which has shown through the variety of Platinum Jubilee events across the county.
“Well done to all those who organised events over the last four days to make this a truly memorable occasion.
“As we recover from the pandemic occasions like this are extra special where family and friends can come together to celebrate.
“Here in Staffordshire, we can also look forward to Staffordshire Ironman and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games events and baton relay, where we expect hundreds of residents to turn out to show their support.”
