A business is ‘coming home’ after confirming plans to open a Lichfield almost 40 years after it was founded in the city.
The first Busy Bees nursery opened in 1984 at The Rocklands and has since gone on to operate 387 sites across the UK and Ireland.
Another will be added to that list when a new facility opens at Fosseway Gate on the Birmingham Road in Lichfield early next year.
It will cater for 110 children from babies through to pre-schoolers.
Marg Randles, co-founder of Busy Bees, said:
“I am so proud to be opening a brand-new nursery in Lichfield and bringing our business back to where it all began.
“This is a truly special moment for me as my children were some of the first to become part of the Busy Bees family.
“While we are now one of the UK’s largest childcare providers, our values have remained the same, to provide children with the best start in life, and this will only continue.
“Over the next few months, we will be pouring our hearts into our new nursery, ensuring that we create a nurturing and supportive environment for generations to come.
“We can’t wait to open our doors and welcome families to our new Lichfield nursery.”

Mark and Sue Capel are the parents of the first children who attended The Rocklands nursery in the 1980s.
Their two children, Amy, 39, and James, 34, both live in Edinburgh, each with two children of their own.
Mark added:
“Our Busy Bees experience was full of wonderful and happy memories. Our children would always come home happy after nursery, and as parents, that’s all we can ask for.
“We wish Marg and Busy Bees the very best for their next adventure in Lichfield.
“We have no doubt Busy Bees will continue to give children the best start in life, just like they did for our children.”

If they really wanted to support the area and come back to their roots they’d move their HQ to Lichfield, instead of London. Would also save a fortune on rents and salaries!
Simon…that’ll be the same Busy Bees who are headquartered in Burntwood, yes? I know places are getting bigger but Burntwood doesn’t yet have a London postcode…
Wrong, they’re headquartered in London. They do have operations in Burntwood but that’s not their headquarters. Do your research before posing inaccuracies please.
Simon…You ought to let Companies House know you know better than they do then…

Oh dear Frank…Do you know the difference between a registered office and a head office?
Here you go…I’ve done your research for you. Click the link and take a look, where it says “Get in touch” click the arrow and see what it says under “Global head office”.
