People across Staffordshire are being urged to get their Covid vaccinations this summer to avoid holiday disappointment.

With many making plans to get away abroad and across the UK, a new campaign is being launched to remind residents that jabs are the best way to avoid the risk of becoming seriously ill with coronavirus.

Staffordshire County Council’s director of public health, Dr Richard Harling, has also reminded residents that a number of countries will require proof of vaccination before they allow entry to travellers.

He added:

“While we are all looking forward to enjoying new freedoms this summer, it’s important to remember that Covid has not gone away, and I encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated as soon as they can.

“If you are planning to travel abroad, make sure you check the entry requirements of your destination to avoid disappointment. The best way to take the stress out of making travel plans, and to protect yourself and your family from Covid, is by getting fully vaccinated.”
