Supermarkets in Lichfield and Burntwood are joining a scheme aiming to cut food waste.
Too Good To Go will be available in Aldi stores following a successful trail last year.
The platform lets people buy ‘Magic Bags’ containing a range of products approaching their sell-by or use-by dates. Each one costs £3.30 and contains at least £10 worth of items.
The roll-out to Aldi stores across the country is expected to save 4,000 tonnes of food from going to waste each year.
Liz Fox, corporate responsibility director at Aldi UK, said:
“Rolling out our partnership with Too Good To Go is another way of allowing us to cut down on food waste, while also offering customers in Staffordshire the opportunity to pick up our food at even lower prices.
“With the rising cost of living impacting so many, Too Good To Go offers a simple and accessible way for consumers to save money and reduce waste.”
Liz Fox, Aldi UK
Sophie Trueman, managing director UK and Ireland at Too Good To Go, added:
“We’re thrilled to be officially launching our partnership with Aldi nationally.
“Having already had fantastic feedback during a successful trial period, I know our Too Good To Go community in Staffordshire is going to jump at the chance to save Aldi Magic Bags and prevent even more good food from going to waste.”
Sophie Truman, Too Good to Go

How do I get the app to good to go I’m a 74 year old and not very good with computers
Hello Patricia.
On your computer iPad or if you have a smart phone. You will need to log into App Store. Not sure what you are using?.
You will need to type in “ Good to go” to find the app. In Search area.
And download the app.
I have just done this… the rest is very simple. It took me a couple of minutes.,
I live in Burntwood and the scheme is running here at The Spa Shop.. Their offer is 10£ bag for £3.20.
The app will give you the nearest shop to where you live.
I am 80 yrs old and found it ok.,
Good luck.
Patricia, I have been checking for you, and have not been able to download the app on my computer, it looks as if you have to have a “Smart” phone to get the App.
