Handcrafted Whittington pork pies failed to claim a podium place at a national competition – but their makers say they’re looking forward to trying again next year.
The tasty treats created at Woodhouse Farm and Garden CIC were among the entries at the annual British Pie Awards in Melton Mowbray.
A spokesperson said:
“Sadly, our local pie did not make the podium but there will be another opportunity in 2024.
“Reading a listening to all the lovely comments about the pies felt like winning anyway. It was a great privilege to enter.”
