Lichfield City will look for an immediate return to winning ways as they face the penultimate game of their Midland Football League Premier Division campaign.

Ivor Green’s men suffered a 4-0 defeat at Darlaston Town last time out – a result which saw them fall four points behind in the title race.

To have any hope of wining the league, Lichfield would have the take wins from their final two games, while Congleton would need to slip up against Tividale and Dudley Town in their remaining fixtures.

Highgate United will be just as desperate to record a win from the contest, as their recent lapse in form saw them fall four points adrift of the play-offs – however, they still hold three games in hand over fifth-placed Stourport Swifts.

Lichfield ranout 2-0 winners when the two sides last met in February at the Trade Tyre Community Stadium.

Congleton’s result away Tividale will determine whether Lichfield will have to settle for a play-off place or if they could have the chance to take a final stab at the title against Studley this weekend.

Kick-off at Highgate this evening (9th April) is at 7.45pm.
