Inspectors have praised a Burntwood school for fostering a love of reading among pupils.
It comes as Ofsted said Highfields Primary Academy “continues to be a good school”.
As well as praising the behaviour of students, the inspectors said the importance of books was a key part of life for pupils.
“The school places a high priority on developing a love of reading.
“No space in the beautiful school environment is wasted in celebrating and promoting interesting and varied stories and texts.
“Reading councillors enjoy the responsibility of choosing books for reading boxes that pupils can enjoy during social times. They talk enthusiastically about stories they have enjoyed staff reading to them.”

The report added that there were some areas where students could reach higher levels of achievement.
“Some teachers do not use assessment well enough to identify if pupils are working at the expected standard.
“As a result, some pupils do not achieve as well as they could.
“Leaders should ensure that teachers receive training to enable them to understand assessment effectively to help identify whether pupils are working at the expected standard for their age and stage.”

The inspectors said the wellbeing of youngsters was an area worthy of praise.
“The school ensures that there is always someone for pupils to talk to about any worries or concerns they might have.
“The worry box provides an alternative way for pupils to share these as they arise. These are dealt with in a sensitive and appropriate way.
“This further strengthens the sense of safety and wellbeing pupils feel when in school.”
