Thank you. In 25 years of residence here this is the third time that I have seen our present M.P. Once at a protest, once at a distance when he morris-danced in Lichfield Bower, now at this remote viewing. Perhaps fewer in future?

This was worth going to. One of the first things out of Fabricants mouth was wrong. He claimed £500 billion was 5 followed by 12 noughts, well its actually 11 zeros. From a man who purports to be a Chartered Engineer this is pretty poor, but exaggerating statistics is his forte.

I found the question on child poverty very interesting.

Dave Robertson spoke about I set up the uniform scheme. I lobbied the council to pay a living wage. Michael Fabricant spoke about we gave cost of living payments. We are rolling out extra childcare.

I have been disappointed by the lack of opposition Labour and the Lib Dems have provided to the council. I personally do not trust Kier Starmer.

Dave, I will give YOU my vote. You have worked to make a difference locally. Please do not let your constituents down.

My impression was that the biggest round of applause of the night actually went to Paul Ray calling for proportional representation. Who would have thought it? It seems I am not the only one who believes our democracy is enriched by voters having real choice rather than our politics being dominated by just two parties. Nobody should feel they have to vote for ‘the lesser of two evils’: we should all have the chance to put a cross in the box next to the person or party we really believe in.
