POLICE are trying to trace a group of teenagers behind ongoing anti-social behaviour in Lichfield.

Officers say the group dressed in black have been regularly banging on the door of a property on Shortbutts Lane.

PCSO Davina Hickman, from Staffordshire Police, said:

“While this activity may seem fun to whoever is doing it, due to this happening on a regular basis over a number of weeks it is totally unacceptable.

“They are believed to have come from the general direction of the Waitrose estate. If you have young boys that you know may be travelling this route please speak to them about this as it has greatly upset the elderly residents.

“There will be additional patrols put in at the location in the hope of catching up with them and they will then be dealt with accordingly.”

So a known problem which the police could easily resolve by actually being there ? I never understand why the police are never present ?

What do you propose, Local Man? A 24-hour surveillance operation for a door being knocked? I can’t imagine they have the manpower to be there all the time. The solution with the parents of the miscreants talking to their children, but remember kids will be kids and they’ll soon get bored of this.

The owner of the property being targeted should watch the Home Alone franchise of films for some seasonal inspiration to take care of this ‘problem’ ;-)

At the moment Lichfield & surrounding areas are having a lot of anti social behaviour problems , due to youth travelling to the area via trains , bus , as they disrupt our area then have easy access to vanish , they have no respect ,
