NEW bleed kits have been provided by a local business.

One Stop convenience stores have worked alongside Burntwood and Cannock First Responders to fund the additional lifesaving sets.

Placed inside defibrillators, the bleed kits contain a range of items designed to help stop blood loss in an emergency.

Jack Taylor, One Stop community and partnership manager, said:

“Our stores and colleagues passionately support this cause year-on-year.

“When we were asked to support with 27 bleed kits, it was an absolute pleasure – we’re thrilled that we were able to fund these.

“We know it will continue to support the vital work of the amazing Cannock First Responders in their local community.”

Among the locations for the bleed kits in Burntwood is the One Stop store in Chasetown.

Eddie Malpas, Burntwood and District Community First Responders defibrillator coordinator, said:

“These bleed kits, alongside the public access defibrillators, will give more people a chance of survival when utilised where someone has suffered a catastrophic bleed or cardiac arrest.

“They will only be activated after a 999 call is made – where these are within close proximity of the incident.”
