TRAIN passengers are being urged to check their journeys before heading for the station with snow forecast across the weekend.
Network Rail says routes in the Midlands and along the West Coast Main Line could be impacted by the weather today (4th January) and tomorrow.
Crews have been treating tracks in a bid to limit the impact of the weather, with heated points helping to keep some routes moving.
Phil James, from Network Rail, said:
“We have plans in place to prepare for the snow and icy condition across the weekend.
“I’d urge passengers to check before they travel as there may be some disruption to services during the extreme weather.”
