Curborough Community Centre

PEOPLE are being invited to join in meditation sessions in Lichfield led by a Buddhist nun.

Gen Kelsang Dema, from Tara International Kadampa Retreat Centre, will run the sessions at 7.30pm to 9pm on Thursdays at Curborough Community Centre from 9th January.

The classes will focus on how to meditate and develop a peaceful and happy mind that helps people to cope with the challenges of daily life.

A spokesperson said:

“Our life can seem so busy that we often feel that we can’t really enjoy anything. Learning to meditate can reduce our stress and anxiety enabling us to stay peaceful and happy within the busyness of our life.

“Through understanding our mind we can cultivate positive habits that bring joy to ourselves and great benefit to others.

“We sit on chairs and the session includes two guided meditations and a talk. At the end there is time to chat and ask questions while enjoying refreshments.”

Each session costs £7 and can be booked online or paid in cash on the night.
