STAFFORDSHIRE’S gritting teams have been praised after working around the clock over the weekend due to wintery conditions across the county.
Crews battled to keep key routes clear as snow fell and ice formed.
Cllr Mark Deaville, Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for strategic highways, said:
“Our gritting teams have worked tirelessly and have done a fantastic job.
“We were well prepared and our entire fleet of gritters was out on Staffordshire’s roads.
“With freezing temperatures set to continue into the week, the teams will be ready to head out again to treat icy roads.”
