A BIRTHDAY celebration in Lichfield in honour of Dr Darwin has been hailed as a “huge success”.
The event, held at Erasmus Darwin House, attracted visitors from across the country.
Guests were able to take part in competitions and dress in Georgian period costumes.
There were also cellar tours, children’s crafts and a chance to meet Dr and Mrs Darwin.
A spokesperson said:
“The highlight of the year at the museum is Dr Darwin’s Birthday Bash – we are so fortunate that Erasmus was born in December, so Christmas fun can be incorporated into this celebration.
“The day was a huge success, at one point the house was full to capacity with visitors from far and wide.
“Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our charity.”
