A SECOND party has confirmed its candidate for a Lichfield City Council by-election.
Reform UK will be represented by businessman Dean Robertson in the vote on 13th February.
The by-election comes following the resignation of Scott Hollingsworth.
The Liberal Democrats have previously confirmed that former nurse and NHS manager Morag Maclean will contest the ballot for them as they seek to hold on to the seat.
Not content with causing untold damage to the country they want the same in Lichfield.
Farage is still the main shareholder in Reform Ltd.
This news will be good for his bottom line.
Nothing says ‘give it to the elites’ more than owning your own political party.
The Reform UK party is in the process of democratising and the ownership will be passed to the members. The proposal for this change is now with the Electoral Commission
Professor Pineapple, do Reform subscribers know their cash goes into the company vaults controlled solely by Farage? That Farage is the ONLY person with hire and fire powers? I mean, it’s a scam!
Indeed, most people are politically uneducated. Reform depends on that and the right wing media. Farage will resign at some point or get kicked out and they will become another party on the sidelines. It’ll end in tears.
It’s nice to see the left wing Liberals go into meltdown over Reform becoming the fastest growing political party and probably at the end of year the biggest political party. Labour haven’t covered themselves in glory since the general election but there’s alot of politically uneducated pensioners , farmers , working class to vote them out.
Come on everybody can you honestly say that any party who has been in power over the last 40 years has had the polices to make this country great again. Surely the Reform Party should be given the chance to develop a range of policies that will make us all feel good again and realise what a great country this used to be
Reform and UKIP have only ever been about Farage, who, after a few short months as an MP, is now reckoned to be the MP with one of the highest earnings from jobs etc outside of his parliamentary duties. He apparently appears to show more interest in burnishing his wealth earning potential than anything else. Why would anyone support a politician who owns his own political party and who appears to care more about earning loads of cash than being a constituency MP? Do we really need or deserve a representative from a privately owned political party? Think about it.
Lichfield “City” Council is classed as a “Local” Council i.e. a Parish Council.
The functions that it is entitled to carry out don’t warrant influence via political perspectives.
Most Parish Councils operate very effectively with no-one coming from a declared political persuasion, so the dogmas of Reform or Liberal Democrats will actually offer no particular benefit.
Reform UK’s County Organiser for Staffordshire, David Hyden-Milakoviche, has resigned following revelations by Hope Not Hate of his links with a fascist group. I hope the candidate and local organsisers will comment for Lichfield Live
@Peter: How exactly do you think Reform is going to make Britain ‘great’ again? By taking away our human rights? By ignoring the climate crisis and leaving our children to deal with our mistakes? By making anyone Tommy Robinson doesn’t like feel unwelcome and unsafe in our country? By making enemies of our nearest neighbours and allies? By taking us back to some mythical golden age of bigotry and discrimination? By letting Nigel Farage take back control?
Great for who exactly?
Steve Norman – thanks for pointing this out. In the interests of remaining unbiased are there any comments on anti corruption minister Tulip Siddiq resigning?
