STAFFORDSHIRE residents are being asked to share their favourite outdoor spots as part of a project to identify how the natural environment can be supported in future.

An interactive map has been launched so people can mark places they enjoy, share thoughts on wildlife and highlight how the areas may be impacted by climate change.

More than 100 residents have taken part so far, with submissions being accepted until 31st January.

Cllr Simon Tagg, Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for environment, infrastructure and climate change, said:

“We all have those outdoor places that bring us closer to nature. This is your chance to tell us about them and play a part in shaping the Local Nature Recovery Strategy.

“Your input will help protect biodiversity and ensure that our natural spaces thrive for generations to come.”

The strategy is part of a national initiative that will see 48 plans developed across the country, mapping out valuable habitats, setting biodiversity priorities and proposing practical actions to restore nature.

People can have their say on the interactive map at Let’s Talk Staffordshire.
