A CHARITY football match organised by sixth formers at a Lichfield school has raised more than £1,500.
Lichfield City’s Trade Tyre Community Stadium saw The Friary School’s Year 12 team triumph 5-1 over the Year 13 side in an action-packed contest.
But it was the result off the pitch that really mattered as the game raised funds for Pathway Project.
More than 150 people turned out to watch and help with the fundraising efforts.
Headteacher Matt Allman said:
“As a school this event is very much about handing over to the leadership of our Sixth Form students and they deserve all the plaudits for what was a huge success.
“I’d also like to thank the team down at Lichfield City who supported the event wonderfully.
“The Year 12s and Year 13 teams might have battled it out on the football pitch, however the event is an experience the two teams are able to look back at fondly, proud of their achievement and the amount they raised.”
