POLICE say a 12-year-old boy arrested in connection with an incident which forced a Burntwood school into lockdown has been placed on bail.

Officers were called to Chase Terrace Academy at around midday yesterday (4th February) following reports of a “disturbance”.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said the 12-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray, but had since been placed on conditional bail while investigations continue.

They added:

“Officers remain in the area todayand continue to support the local school as we investigate what happened.

“The public is urged to avoid speculation on social media while we continue with our inquiries.”
