A SUPERMARKET chain with outlets in Lichfield and Burntwood says it is introducing increased minimum pay rates for staff.
Aldi has confirmed that the amount it gives store assistants will be at least £13 an hour from 1st September.
The company said the figure was above the Real Living Wage of £12.60 set by the Living Wage Foundation in October last year.
Giles Hurley, CEO of Aldi UK and Ireland, said:
“This latest investment in pay is a reflection of the hard work and the incredible contribution our people make every single day.
“We’re proud to remain the UK’s highest-paying supermarket and will continue to support our colleagues in every way we can.”
