A FRADLEY-BASED business is backing a campaign to support disadvantaged and vulnerable children.

Palletways has linked up with KidsOut to help youngsters living in refuges.

The charity has launched its Giving Tree Appeal and is hoping to go one better than the record number of donations it received last Christmas.

Jessica Brown, Palletways development manager, said:

“Last Christmas, KidsOut gifted 51,000 toys which were distributed to children who had fled domestic abuse and were living in refuge, and gave a further 22,000 toys to disadvantaged children with life-limiting disabilities who are carers or are affected by economic hardship.

“It’s a fun alternative to the traditional Secret Santa – instead of buying a light-hearted gift for a colleague, we buy a toy for a child or young person. It’s a great thing to do and we’ve been taking part for about seven years.

“These children often receive very little, and in some cases, nothing at all, at Christmas. It’s an amazing project which brings happiness to children who truly need it.”
