CHASETOWN collected a late Christmas gift as they picked up three points at Stafford Rangers.

The Scholars took to the road keen to improve on recent disappointing results against Trafford and Witton Albion.

Ty Webster broke the deadlock after 38 minutes with a wonderful strike from outside the box which bent into the top-left corner.

The second half saw Luke Yates find the net to extend the lead with a half-volley which the Rangers keeper couldn’t get hold of.

After plenty of chances, the hosts finally netted in stoppage time courtesy of skipper James O’Neill.

But it was only a consolation as the referee’s whistle blew on a 2-1 win for Chasetown.
