TWO second half goals condemned Lichfield City to a Boxing Day defeat against Coleshill Town.
The hosts suffered an early scare when a header dropped just over Brendon Bunn’s goal.
At the other end, Jack Edwards had City’s first chance of note with a volley that was well saved by Cameron Belford.
Bunn was then forced to make a stop of his own to keep the scores level.
Lichfield had a chance to get themselves in front when they were awarded a penalty after Conor Okerere was fouled, but Kieran Francis saw his spot kick saved by Belford.
Coleshill had their own chance to net from 12 yards ten minutes into the second half after a foul conceded by Harry Eden saw Ben Usher-Shipway put his side ahead from the spot.
The visitors then fired over Bunn’s bar as they tried to double their advantage, while Josh Mansell was also forced to clear off the line as City’s goal continued to come under threat.
The lead was doubled 15 minutes from time when Usher-Shipway kept his nerve to convert a one-on-one opportunity against Bunn to seal the points.
