A Lichfield Folk Dance Club session
A Lichfield Folk Dance Club session

PEOPLE are being invited to put their best foot forward to join a dancing session in Lichfield.

An evening for newcomers is being hosted by Lcihfield Folk Dance Club on 19th January.

A spokesperson said:

“English folk dancing includes the country dancing that you might have tried at school, the dancing of Jane Austen’s time and more recent dances written in the same tradition.

“The dancing will be led by experienced callers Kathryn and David Wright, who will explain all of the dances in a clear walk-through, with some basic instruction where appropriate.

“This session is suitable to those with limited experience of dancing, while also being enjoyable to those who have been dancing for many years.

“There is no need to bring a partner – come on your own or bring your friends. Our club members will be ready to welcome you.”

The first night is free and takes place from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Bader Hall in King Edward VI School.
