A Meeting of Minds

The story behind Sergei Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto will be explored in a new show at the Lichfield Garrick.

A Meeting of Minds will see actor and pianist Michael Lunts recreate the encounters which took place between the composer and hypnotist Dr Dahl which led to the creation of his best-loved composition, which went on to become the soundtrack to the film Brief Encounter.

Integrated into the action are live performances of some of Rachmaninov’s greatest music for piano, including the famous C sharp minor Prelude and the celebrated Piano Concerto itself.
