# Approval for plans to convert part of Swinfen Hall into residential properties

PLANS to redevelop the basement and ground floors of a former hotel into residential properties have been approved.

The application will see seven properties created in the Main Hall at Swinfen Hall.

A planning statement said:

> "Currently, only part of Swinfen Hall itself is being used, with the owner’s family living there. The rest of the hall is either sitting vacant or falling into disrepair.

> "By converting the rest of the hall, it will ensure a constant revenue for the owner, to ensure that the upkeep of the building is maintained for the future.  
>  
> "The proposed works will also enable the rest of the hall to be opened up and enjoyed by others, giving a purpose to the historic building."
