Barton United slipped to third after a disappointing defeat at Alcester Town.

They had been looking to keep up the pressure on leaders Paget Rangers, but with the front-runners and Badsey Rangers winning, Barton’s 3-1 defeat was all the more painful.

A Ben Cleaver strike was all United had to show for their efforts as Alcester’s James Gifford netted a hat-trick.

Barton will get the chance to get their title challenge back on track when they entertain struggling Burntwood Town on Saturday (December 28).
