# Bavarian treats on offer at Lichfield’s Oktoberfest celebration

Lichfield is set to get a flavour of Bavaria when the city hosts an Oktoberfest event.

The Bavarian Strollers

The Guildhall will host the Lichfield Arts event on October 1 and will feature fine food, brilliant beer and the musical flavour of the oompah band.

The city’s Oktoberfest will see a range of German beers and wines along with British real ales. There will also be foods on sale, including such German specialities such as pretzels and bratwurst.

The event will kick off on September 30, before culminating with a performance by the Bavarian Strollers on the Saturday night (October 1).

Lichfield Arts Director Chris Newcombe said: “This is going to be a great start to our season and we hope it will be such a success that it will become a regular feature of the Lichfield Arts calendar.”

The festival will run from noon until 11pm each day. Tickets are priced at £2 all day Friday, with Saturday costing £2 until 5.30pm and £3 afterwards.
