# Boss hails ‘best ever’ Shenstone Pathfinder FC squad

Manager Chris Whitehouse believes his Shenstone Pathfinder FC squad is the “best ever” at the club.

His comments come on the back of a winning start to the season as they upset the odds in [a 2-1 win at Warstone Wanderers](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2011/08/08/match-report-warstone-wanderers-1-shenstone-pathfinder-fc-2/) on Saturday.

A number of debutants played their part in the smash and grab raid, which was completed thanks to goals from Rich Caddy and Adam Wall.

And boss Whitehouse believes the addition of the likes of Steven Prince and Neill Sinclair to his ranks has put Pathfinder in good shape for the rest of the season.

He said:

> “It was a real backs to the wall performance at times because Warstone play some really good football, but we did restrict them to mainly shots from outside the box and that’s a testement to how hard all the lads worked to get the three points.

> “We now have to kick on from this start. We have a stronger squad than last season and it’s the best squad we have ever had down here. With that type of commitment every week it could be an interesting season to see how far we can go.”

Shenstone’s next fixture sees them travel to Wolves Casuals on Saturday (August 13) to take on Trysull, kick-off 3pm.
