Leisure centre bosses in Lichfield insist they are “working tirelessly” to resolve a fault that has forced it to close for a week.

Friary Grange Leisure Centre hasn’t been able to open [since a fault was discovered with a fire alarm panel](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2019/02/13/lib-dem-councillor-demands-urgent-answers-over-continued-closure-of-friary-grange-leisure-centre-in-lichfield/).

However, emails have [revealed that Lichfield District Council officials believe the issue was caused by condensation due to delays repairing problems with the central heating system](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2019/02/14/emails-reveal-delay-in-repairs-to-central-heating-system-are-being-blamed-for-damage-that-forced-lichfield-leisure-centre-to-shut/).

Freedom Leisure, which operates the leisure centre on behalf of the council, said in a Facebook post: “We are working tirelessly to resolve the issue and to reopen as soon as possible.”

There is no indication when the centre will reopen, with indications it could continue into a second week, with classes scheduled for tomorrow (18th February) [already listed as cancelled on the company’s website](https://www.freedom-leisure.co.uk/centres/friarygrange/%3?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk).
