# Bower Queen to be revealed on Thursday

I can barely contain my excitement with the news that the Bower Queen is to be [named in the Lichfield Mercury](http://www.thisislichfield.co.uk/news/winner/article-758294-detail/article.html?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) this week.

Anyone who has seen my [earlier thoughts on the whole Bower Queen issue](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2009/02/19/bower-queen-is-nothing-more-than-a-modern-day-freakshow/) will know it’s not really my cup of tea, but in the interests of fairness let’s hope the best 

gullibe, attention-hungry 

contender wins.

In the meantime, I’ll be waiting under the letterbox for my Mercury to appear.
