POLICE say a 12-year-old boy arrested in connection with an incident which forced a Burntwood school into lockdown has been placed on bail.

Officers were called to Chase Terrace Academy at around midday yesterday (4th February) following reports of a “disturbance”.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said the 12-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray, but had since been placed on conditional bail while investigations continue.

They added:

> “Officers remain in the area todayand continue to support the local school as we investigate what happened.

> “The public is urged to avoid speculation on social media while we continue with our inquiries.”
