# Brilliant Burntwood gardeners praised at awards ceremony

The work of blooming brilliant Burntwood gardeners has been recognised at an awards ceremony.

Winners Judy and Brian Littler

Local residents, schools and businesses were among the prizewinners in the annual Burntwood in Bloom competition.

As well as recognising the efforts of the entrants, Councillor Sharon Banevicius, Chairman of Burntwood Town Council also praised them for helping the area achieve a Silver Gilt Award in the Heart of England in Bloom contest.

“I’d like to thank everyone who entered this year’s competition,” said Cllr Banevicius. “The flowers and displays make Burntwood look beautiful in the summer, and builds on our community’s pride.

“I would particularly like to offer congratulations to all our winners, especially, the overall winner of combined best front and best rear garden categories, Judy and Brian Littler, as well as a special mention to all our local schools who took part.”

Burntwood Town Council are selling 2015 calendars featuring photographs from the competition. They can be purchased from their office at Lambourne House, Bridge Cross Road, for £2.50.
