Burntwood 3rds remain unbeaten since mid-September, their latest success being a 36-17 Merit Table win at home to Walsall 3rds.

It was a tough contest for Mark Bourne’s side, evidenced by 3 players having treatment for head wounds, but they built up a good lead courtesy of scoring the first 4 tries of the afternoon which enabled them to survive a late fightback by the visitors.

The tries were shared out with one each from Rob England, Scott Slater, Andy Macey, Matt Cummins and the impressive James Wright. Cummins supplied the kicking points.
