Burntwood 3rds wound up their season with a hard-earned Merit Table victory at home to Willenhall 3rds – a win which should see them finish top of the table.

A score of 38-10 sounds comfortable but it was anything but. The battle up front was fiercely-fought to say the least but inspired by the likes of Dave Tyler and Matt Cummins, the home pack provided enough possession for the quicker home backs to exploit their pace.

Mitch Adams helped himself to four tries, the first created by a lightning run from winger Nick Peplow. Craig Addy scored 2 tries and Cummins provided the conversions.
