# Burntwood RUFC junior round-up

Burntwood RUFC U17s were well-beaten by Wolverhampton, the U16s went without a fixture and the U15s overwhelmed Eccleshall.

The pick of the performances came from the U14s who came from behind to defeat Wolverhampton 21-19.

Burntwood were pinned in their own 22 for much of the first period and did well to concede only two tries and a conversion.

It was a reversal of fortunes after the turnaround. Prolonged pressure by the forwards led to winger Liam Smith beginning the fightback with a try in the left corner. Rory Newall added what turned out to be a crucial conversion.

Then it was right winger Ben Tranter’s turn. His electrifying burst of pace took him clean through to the posts for a try converted by Newall.

Outside half Newall scored his side’s third try, a fine individual effort which he also converted.

Wolverhampton scored a late converted try but they had no time left to go for the winner.
