A BURNTWOOD school is celebrating after being recognised by The Woodland Trust.

Holly Grove Primary Academy acheived the Green Tree Schools Platinum Award after demonstrating a long-term commitment to outdoor learning and environmental education.

Only seven other schools in Staffordshire currently hold the honour, with the last of these being presented in 2022.

Ann Mantle‑Taylor, outdoor learning leader at Holly Grove Primary Academy, said:

> “Achieving the Platinum Award is a fantastic achievement for our whole school community.

> “Our pupils have developed a real passion for nature, and outdoor learning is now an important and valued part of everyday life at Holly Grove.

> “We are incredibly proud to be the first school in Burntwood to reach this level.”
