# Burntwood student’s top A-Level grades secure Cambridge University place

A Burntwood students is celebrating after securing a place at Cambridge University.

Amy Jukes

Amy Jukes scored A\* in chemistry, mathematics and physics, as well as the same grade in the extended project qualification.

The results mean she will now take up her place to study a degree in Natural Sciences (Physics) at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University in September.

Erasmus Darwin Academy principal Bernice Astling said: “We are immensely proud of Amy and her outstanding achievements.

“She is a gifted and extremely hardworking student who thoroughly deserves these superb results. We are so pleased that she has secured her place at Cambridge University where she will thrive.

“I am also delighted with our A-Level results overall which are a credit to our Sixth Form students and the staff of Erasmus Darwin Academy.”

The school saw Year 13 results higher than previous years, and other students were also able to celebrate top grades. Tom who gained A\* in Fine Art, A in Music and A\* in ICT.
