# Burntwood Town Council elects new chairman

[Councillor Doug Constable](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/tag/cllr-doug-constable/) has been elected as the new chairman of [Burntwood Town Council](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/tag/burntwood-town-council/).

At the meeting on 13th May, the newly elected chairman announced that his wife, [Councillor Mrs Brenda Constable](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/tag/cllr-brenda-constable/) would be his [Consort](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consort?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) for the year.

Chairman Constable’s chosen charities are [Macmillan Nurses](http://www.macmillan.org.uk/HowWeCanHelp/Nurses/AboutMacmillanNurses.aspx?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) and the [Midlands Air Ambulance](http://www.midlandsairambulance.com/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk).
