A main route in and out of Lichfield has been closed for after a THIRD crash in as many days.

Emergency services at the scene on the Burton Road into Streethay

The Burton Road through Streethay was shut at around 3.30pm this afternoon (July 20) after an accident involving several vehicles.

The road remained closed for almost an hour as emergency services dealt with the incident.

The latest accident happened at the entrance of Lichfield Trent Valley station and follows [one near the Burton Old Road turn yesterday](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2016/07/19/two-injured-after-second-crash-in-as-many-days-on-burton-road-in-lichfield/).

The road was also shut on Monday after a two-vehicle crash near Trent Valley island.
