# Call for volunteers to join Lichfield conservation days

Volunteers at a previous conservation event at Christian Fields

Volunteers are being asked to roll up their sleeves and help out at two conservation events in Lichfield.

Lichfield District Council’s [Countryside & Parks Conservation Group](http://www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/cpcg?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) (CPCG) will be undertaking habitat management work in Beacon Park on May 7 before heading to Christian Fields to improve woodland on May 21.

Councillor Andrew Smith, Lichfield District Council’s cabinet member for leisure & parks, said: “Nature conservation is a great way to work as a group to boost important local natural habitats. It also offers a chance to meet new people and to learn new skills.”

Both days will run from 10.30am to 3pm and are for over 18s. All tools will be provided as well as light snacks. Wearing outdoor waterproof clothes and sturdy footwear is recommended.
