# Call for volunteers to work with conservation group in Lichfield

Volunteers are being asked to roll up their sleeves and help carry out work on conservation areas around Lichfield.

Two sessions have been scheduled by the Countryside and Parks Conservation Group on:

- November 5 at Muckley Corner.
- November 19 at Saddlers Wood.
The first event will see the group gathering and burning scrub and small trees that have been collected at previous events. They will also cut and clear trees and scrub to ensure the area’s rare heathland plants have plenty of room to grow. 

The second day will feature thinning of the overgrown and unmanaged woodland, to create glades.

Councillor Ian Pritchard said: “We are grateful to our CPCG volunteers who continue to help us to maintain important parks and green spaces across the district. We’re always keen for more people to join the group, so if you are interested in nature conservation, please contact us to find out how to get involved.”
