A LOCAL historian is set to explore the history of castles at a talk in Lichfield.

Robert Mee will be the guest of the South East Staffordshire Association of National Trust Members at 7.30pm on 15th January.

A spokesperson said:

> “Robert will give us a potted history of the castle as a concept, then take us on a tour of possible and definite castle sites.  
>  
> “We’ll hear about some forgotten ruins and even significant bumps in the ground that once represented much more.”

Entry to the event at the Lichfield Guildhall is £3 for members and £5 for non-members.
