THE chairman of Lichfield Round Table has set off on a 190-mile walking challenge – and has already raised more than £5,000 for charity.

Daniel White is making the journey from Billericay to Barry Island in aid of the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

He set off yesterday (16th August), beginning a seven-day walk across England and Wales to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention.

Members of the Billericay Round Table group showed their support by joining Daniel for the first ten miles of his journey – and other regional members are scheduled to join him on the way.

Daniel said:

> "One of the most incredible things about Round Table is that wherever you go, you're rarely far from a Tabler.
>
> "We have clubs all over the world, but it still feels like one huge group of mates. People I've met have offered to walk miles with me, meet me along the route, help with accommodation, share the fundraiser or simply send a message to keep me going.
>
> "Billericay Round Table saw me through my first ten miles, and members of Barry Round Table – where my own Round Table journey began – will be there to see me home.
>
> "That's what Round Table means to me. You don't have to face things alone – and that fits perfectly with why I'm doing this for CALM."
