Lichfield residents will be able to find out if they have hidden treasure at a valuation day in the city.

Local auctioneer Charles Hanson will be hosting a free antiques valuation day at the Lichfield Guildhall on October 31 from 11 to 3pm.

BBC Bargain Hunt expert Charles will lead a team of his colleagues, who are experts in the fields of books, stamps, coins, militaria and jewellery and will be giving advice on family treasures.

Although the event – which opens at 11am – is free of charge, Lichfield’s Mayor and Sheriff would welcome donations to their chosen charities – the British Heart Foundation, Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust and Help for Heroes.
