YOUNG drivers are revving up for the return of a motorsport event in Lichfield.

Cannock and District Car Club will be back at Curborough Sprint Course on 20th September.

The Autosolo event will allow anyone with a standard road car aged 13 or above to take part and test themselves on the track.

A spokesperson said:

> "We suggest a small shopping-type car, perhaps a Toyota Yaris, Renault Clio or similar as a suitable car for young drivers.
>
> "Young drivers are expected to be able to pull away, tackle a couple of simple obstacles and stop the car safely to be considered to take part, and will be given a very short 'driving test' to confirm they can do this.
>
> "All drivers 17 or under or drivers without a full driving licence will also need a passenger who holds a valid RTA licence and has some experience in the discipline, but the club can provide that. Anyone who holds a free Motorsport UK competition licence can take part.
>
> "The courses are simple but challenging and are set out to be non-damaging to your car."

The organisers are also looking for volunteer marshals to join the event too.
