# Chance to sign up for Lichfield’s annual pancake races

PEOPLE are being invited to sign up for Lichfield’s annual pancake races.

The event takes place on Bore Street at midday on 17th February.

There will be categories including women, men, mascots and children aged ten and under.

A new race has also been added for 2026, with a young adults category added for those aged between 11 and 17.

A spokesperson for Lichfield City Council said:

> “Following the races, the civic party will officially open the Shrovetide Fair on Market Square, accompanied by Town Crier Adrian Holmes, who will give a celebratory shout to mark the occasion.

> “We are also inviting local businesses to sponsor each race.”

Entrants must register by midday on 13th February. The entry form is below and must be returned to [civic@lichfield.gov.uk](mailto:civic@lichfield.gov.uk) before the closing date.
