# Chasetown boss delighted as players sign up for new season

CHASETOWN manager Mark Swann says he is “delighted” after retaining a large number of his squad for the new season.

The Scholars will be hoping to push for promotion this season after suffering defeat in the play-offs last term.

Although skipper Danny O’Callaghan has confirmed he will be leaving the club, boss Mark Swann has seen a number of other key figures such as Kieran Fenton, Curtis Pond and Jack Langston commit their future to the Scholars.

He told the club’s website:

> “Having been sound defensively last season, we are pleased that our whole defensive unit has agreed to remain at the football club for the new campaign.

> “In Oli Hayward, Joe Dunne and Jordan Evans we feel we have full backs that are as good as the league has to offer.  
>  
> “Our central defensive options are also very strong with Mitch Clarke, Sam Griffiths, Kris Taylor and Kieran Fenton all committing.  
>  
> “With the departure of Danny O’Callaghan and Sam Unitt it was important to secure our other midfielders. We are delighted to have done so.”

The Scholars have also managed to secure their forwards for another season.

Swann said:

> “Joey Butlin, George Cater, Danny Glover, Max Chimenes, Jay Clement, Luke Yates, Aaron Ashford, Ben Lund and Alfie Taylor have all agreed new deals to remain at Church Street for the new season.”
