# Chasetown FC aiming to unearth more young stars at trials event

Young footballers are being invited to take part in Chasetown FC’s under 18-side trials.

The club are following up the recent success of their scholarship scheme which saw [Lee Wright join Wycombe Wanderers](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2010/06/29/chasetown-fc-scholarship-winger-joins-wycombe-wanderers/) by trying to unearth even more talent.

The team will compete in the Midland Floodlit Premier League and the Midland Junior Premier League.

A spokesperson for the club said:

> “Players must be of an excellent standard to complement our existing scholarship scheme.”

A limited number of scholarship opportunities are available on an initial one-year course.

The trials take place on July 9 at Burntwood Leisure Centre from 7pm. Players must be born after August 31, 1992, and will need to bring their own kit, rubber studs and shinpads.
