Chasetown FC will face another of the Evo-Stik League’s favourites when early season pacesetters Chorley visit the Scholars Ground.

Charlie Blakemore’s men have already upset one of the big-hitters in the division when they [claimed the scalp of FC United of Manchester last Saturday](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2011/08/22/match-report-fc-united-of-manchester-1-chasetown-fc-2/).

However, a thrilling [4-4 draw against Nantwich](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2011/08/24/match-report-chasetown-fc-4-nantwich-town-4/) in midweek has left the Scholars sitting in mid-table, six points behind leaders Chorley who make the trip to Staffordshire tomorrow (August 27).

Managed by former Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers midfielder Garry Flitcroft, the visitors will bring an experienced squad featuring a blend of former Football League names alongside players with a good non-league pedigree.

Former Preston North End midfielder Simon Whaley and striker Matt Jansen are among the high-profile squad, the latter clocking up a number of appearances at the highest level and amassing transfer fees of more than £5,000,000.

However, Chasetown could avoid having to square up against the former Blackburn Rovers frontman who has been struggling with a back strain.

The Scholars, meanwhile, will need to prove their worth against a Chorley defence that has conceded only one goal in four league outings this season.

But with summer signing Alex Steadman netting three times in four games so far, Chasetown will be confident of breaching one of the division’s meanest backlines.

Kick-off at the Scholars Ground is at 3pm.
