Chasetown FC goalkeeper Ryan Price has admitted his time at the club could be over.

The experienced stopper did not feature in the weekend’s [win against Hucknall Town](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2013/01/14/chasetown-fc-add-to-hucknall-towns-woes-with-4-0-victory/).

Loan keeper Matt Sargeant was instead preferred and Price admits that he may now have to look for a new opportunity away from The Scholars Ground.

Price admitted he had considered his future and spoken with manager Craig Harris after results in recent weeks, a move he says was purely out of frustration.

However, he believes Sargeant’s arrival means any decision has now been taken out of his hands.

“The character I am, I’m not going to sit in the stands and watch the club I’ve given my all for over the years, knowing I should be playing,” he said. “It’s just not in my nature.

“They are a fantastic club to play for and I love the place.

“In time, the manager will succeed, no doubts about that, but I need to be playing at my age and feel I’ve so much more to give.”

Despite admitting his time at the club may be up after four-and-a-half years and more than 200 appearances, Price says he remains hopeful that he could yet pull on the gloves again for Chasetown.

“I’d never turn my back on the club if I was needed as it means that much to me ,” he told *LichfieldLive*. “So I’ll never say never.

“A lot can happen in a week in football.”
